The holiday season is all about giving. Every month, Juice Beauty sets aside a portion of our sales so we can donate annually or semi-annually to five fantastic organizations and causes directly from Juice Beauty or from Karen’s family foundation.
We’d love to share with you a short (but sweet) introduction to these 5 causes so you can see why they are so near and dear to our hearts!
Miss Representation is a critically acclaimed documentary, written and directed by our very own spokeswoman, Jennifer Siebel Newsom, that explores how the media’s misrepresentations of women have led to the underrepresentation of women in positions of power and influence in America.
Miss Representation brings to light the persuasive force of the media on shaping what we see as norms today with its collective message that a woman’s value and power lie in her youth, beauty, and sexuality, and not in her capacity as a leader and goes a step further to challenge the media’s limited, and often disparaging, portrayals of female roles.
Teens Turning Green is a student led movement devoted to education and advocacy around green choices that began in the Bay Area in 2005 and has since spread to schools and universities nationally.
The Teens Turning Green organization seeks to identify and works to eliminate toxic exposures that occur in everyday life that threaten public and environmental health. Teens Turning Green chapters lead grassroots efforts that aim to raise awareness, encourage behavior change, and lobby for policy that will lessen local and global impact.
The Organic Center’s unique mission is to conduct credible, evidence-based research on the health and environmental benefits of organic food and farming, then communicate findings to the public.
By giving consumers and organizations easy access to the science that sheds light on the benefits of organic, The Organic Center is able to increase awareness of organic practices and contribute to a measurable increase in organic production and consumption.
The Breast Cancer Fund connects the dots between breast cancer and exposures to chemicals and radiation in our everyday environments by identifying — and advocating for elimination of — the environmental and other preventable causes of the disease.
They translate the growing body of scientific evidence linking brea
st cancer and environmental exposures into public education and advocacy campaigns to increase awareness of ways to protect our health and reduce breast cancer risk.
Through science, policy and field work, Conservation International creates solutions to protect the natural resources that we all depend on. They help communities, countries and societies protect tropical forests, lush grasslands, rivers, wetlands, abundant lakes and the sea.
Only through properly valuing the essential services these ecosystems provide can society create a sustainable development path that will benefit all people for generations to come.
